About

Welcome!

Thanks for visiting.

I’m Anna. In case you didn’t know, my name means grace, and as luck would have it, I’m in need of it daily.

I’m wife to Adam and mom to Isaiah, Caleb and Naomi. All of who add a great deal of spice to my life. And, well…okay, sometimes it’s more like pepper thrown in my eyes, but that’s where grace comes in, right?

I spend most days between my two offices. One is in my laundry room and the other is in my kitchen. If you can’t find me there, just look for my minivan that’s sure to be driving around town somewhere.

A few years ago, God called us to adopt a little girl from Russia. After two years of grueling paperwork and two intense trips to Russia, we returned home with Naomi, stuffed all three kids into the backseat of our Subaru Outback (that suddenly felt way too small), and all hell broke loose.

Hence, the minivan.

This blog was birthed in 2008, at the start of our adoption process. We used it to keep family and friends updated as we waded through the twists, turns, setbacks and fast-forwards that go hand in hand with Russian adoptions. Thankfully that part of our lives ended in March of 2010 when we brought Naomi home.

Life goes on though, and so we find ourselves with two active boys who bring a great deal of seasoning to our lives, and Naomi, whose diagnoses of Cerebral Palsy, is the surprise ingredient to our quirky family of five.

As we walk, and at times stumble, through this life God has called us to live, we invite you to join us. I will share more of Naomi’s rescue in the future, but for now, this blog will continue as a humorous look on family life, because I’ve learned that when raising children, grace (there’s that pesky word again), and humor, are essential to surviving the absurdities that get thrown in the mix.
